SIB hosts VIP Dinner in Hong Kong, China

The Seychelles Investment Board organized its first VIP dinner which was held in Hong Kong on the 24th January 2019 at the Regal Hong Kong Hotel. The theme was ‘Investment Opportunities in Seychelles’. The aim of the dinner was to give potential investors within the Hong Kong and Pearl River Delta region an overview of the investment potential in Seychelles. This dinner has come about due to increased interests in Seychelles from investors in that region.



Present were Minister for Finance, Trade, Investment and Economic Planning Amb. Loustau-Lalanne, the Chairman of SIB Mr. Gilbert Lebon, the Ambassador of Seychelles to China Ms. Vivianne Fock-Tave, SIB’s CEO Ms. Cindy Vidot, Deputy CEO Mr. Lenny Gabriel, Senior Investment Analyst Ms. Jeannette Lesperance, Mr. Jean-Luc Lai-Lam the Seychelles Tourism Board representative based in Hong Kong, the consulate of Hong Kong Dr. Sidney To and Ms. Mary Jim, the Trade and investment Representative of Seychelles in Hong Kong.


The guests were treated to presentations on the various investment opportunities in Seychelles as well as two presentations on the Financial Services sector and also Aquaculture, the new emerging industry. The event proved to be a success with the audience showing great interest in the investment opportunities presented.


Attending the workshop was also Mr. Basil Soundy from Bodco Ltd., representing the private sector. Mr. Soundy made the following comments on the event; “The arrangements were excellent and the venue and dinner gave the participants the opportunity to discuss various possibilities for investing in Seychelles.  I met with many of the Chinese delegates who were impressed with the presentations”.


On the 25th January, the delegation was invited to Guangdong by Mr. Ding Haichao, the Chairman of Guandong Springandsea Holding Group Co., Ltd. The team was given an overview of his company and the various investments he has made. Mr Ding holds a vast portfolio with investments in various sectors. He has expressed his willingness to invest in Seychelles in the near future.
